The Reid Gorecki Memorial Scholarship
is funded by the Reid Gorecki Foundation and awarded to students who have utilized their artwork to empower their own mental health and/or directly impact youth mental health initiatives at school or in their communities.
Reid Matthew Gorecki (https://www.reidgore.com/) passed away at the age of 18 on Thursday May 11, 2023. Reid embodied an all encompassing creativity and tenderness of spirit he shared with the world through his art and his charismatic, funny, and sensitive personality. From infancy and through the entire span of his short life, his drive to make meaningful art and treat everyone with compassion and with fairness made a tremendous impact.

The Reid Gorecki Memorial Scholarship in PUSD
was lovingly established by Alicia Gorecki to honor the memory and artistic spirit of her son. Reid was passionate about two things, youth mental health and all things art. In his artist statement he said, “If someone is able to connect with something I have made, or if the work speaks to even one person, I am satisfied. I know art helps me to feel connected, not alone, and that is important for everyone.”
One scholarship to a student from one of the PUSD High Schools (Muir, Marshall, Blair, or Rose City) will be given each spring in Reid's memory. The recipient will receive a $500.00 scholarship grant.
